As the Ripple-SEC lawsuit decision looms, crypto analyst and economist Alex Kruger has weighed in on its potential impact on the industry. Kruger believes that a Ripple victory could trigger an “alt season,” a period where altcoin prices significantly increase and outperform Bitcoin. For those unfamiliar with the term, an alt season is difficult to pinpoint in terms of cause, but analysts suggest a positive trend in the top 20 major altcoins could start a wider altcoin season.

Meanwhile, David Gokhshtein, founder of Gokhshtein Media, predicts that both XRP and the cryptocurrency industry as a whole will take off following a Ripple victory. Pro-Ripple lawyer John Deaton shares a similar opinion, highlighting XRP’s attractive risk/reward ratio and potential price increase if the court rules in favor of Ripple.

In a recent tweet, Deaton refers to XRP as the “comeback coin” given its setbacks and criticism related to the SEC lawsuit. At the time of writing, XRP is up 20% in the last 24 hours, outperforming major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum in daily and weekly gains. This increase in XRP price is likely due to optimism regarding the Ripple lawsuit, with some expecting a decision to come soon.
