Revolut, a crypto-friendly neobank, has made the decision to halt purchases of Cardano (ADA), Polygon (MATIC), and Solana (SOL) for its U.S. customers. Revolut is not the only company delisting these three tokens. Other major players in the cryptocurrency space, including Robinhood, eToro, and Bakkt, have also announced delistings of ADA, MATIC, and SOL in recent weeks, leading to an immediate halt in purchases.
The decision to delist these tokens stems from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) classification of ADA, MATIC, and SOL as unregistered securities. The SEC’s actions against major cryptocurrency exchanges, Binance and Coinbase, played a role in these developments, as the allegations were made as part of these regulatory actions.
