Bithumb, one of South Korea’s largest exchanges, saw the XRP/KRW trading pair account for a substantial 14.76% of total volumes, equivalent to $20,891,694. This makes XRP the second most traded asset on the platform, only after Bitcoin (BTC). Similarly, on Korbit, another prominent South Korean exchange, XRP holds its position as the second most traded asset, with the XRP/KRW pair contributing to 19.96% of total volumes. Ethereum trails behind XRP in third place.
Upbit, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea in terms of trading volume, also witnesses significant XRP trading activity. XRP secures a position among the top five traded assets on Upbit, ranking third after Bitcoin and Mask Network.
Despite the active trading volumes, the price of XRP has remained relatively stable, with a modest increase of just 1.49% in the past 24 hours, reaching $0.48. Typically, heightened trading volumes coincide with price volatility, but the marginal price movement of XRP suggests a growing acceptance and normalization of XRP trading among South Korean traders.
Whales, characterized as significant holders of cryptocurrency, continue to demonstrate optimism towards XRP. Notably, crypto expert Ali reported that whales have acquired 52 million XRP over the past three weeks, amounting to nearly $22.9 million. This accumulation by influential holders indicates a positive sentiment surrounding XRP.
The Ripple-SEC legal battle has sparked high expectations, especially after Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse made a bold prediction, suggesting that the litigation will conclude in a matter of “weeks” rather than “months.”
