In the ongoing legal dispute between Ripple and the SEC about XRP sales, attorney John Deaton has predicted that emails and speech drafts related to former SEC official William Hinman will eventually become public, despite the SEC’s efforts to keep them sealed.

Deaton believes that the documents will be relevant not only with XRP but also to other cryptocurrency-related litigation and could potentially be declared “judicial documents” and unsealed by Judge Analisa Torres, with limited redactions. Deaton also suggests that the documents may become public due to their relevance to other ongoing cases, such as the lawsuit against Dragonchain.

Deaton’s prediction comes amid rumors of more enforcement actions against dozens of companies, including major exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, and Binance US. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has criticized the SEC’s lack of transparency and disclosure, claiming that their behavior will be revealed as shameful.

Deaton has previously filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking the release of the documents and intends to litigate the matter. The potential public release of these documents could have significant implications for other cryptocurrency-related cases, potentially shedding light on the SEC’s decision-making process and influencing the outcomes of future litigation.
